From Procreate To Print

Are you looking to bring your digital work into the real world and print with the vibrant colors of the risograph printer? Then this workshop is for you!
Using the iPad drawing software “Procreate,” we’ll learn to properly setup files and explore creating color separations, all while learning to make multi-color prints. This course will also authorize you to rent time in the Shepherd & Maudsleigh risograph room independently.

Risograph for Beginners
Multiple Dates
Bring your designs, photos, drawings, and other visual ideas to life through the Risograph printer. This multi-color printing process has the energy and artisanal quality of screenprinting with the ease of a xerox printer.
On day one we’ll explore the machine basics, using the scanning bed and a digital workflow to create a collaborative multi-layer print.
On day two we’ll focus on bringing individual projects to life! For anyone with prior RISO experience, this can serve as a refresher and a rundown of our specific machine (RZ990).

The Risograph allows you to quickly create multiples of your imagery in bright, distinctive colors. Combine this with some simple book forms - and you’re able to make your very own books in large quantities at a time! This is great for passing along to friends, loved ones, even strangers!

RISO Foundation Workshop
April 23rd & 30th
Are you an animator or illustrator looking to add a tactile feeling to your work and get your hands dirty? Then this workshop is for you. Together, we’ll build an animated loop (or set up an existing animation of yours to print), we’ll export your sequence for print, we’ll print it in 1-2 colors, and we’ll scan your animation back into your desired animation software.
This class is for those with previous illustration or animation experience. No prior risograph printing experience is required.
Software: We’ll use Photoshop and Procreate.
